2014 Contest: $1000+ in Points, Art, and More!

Happy New Year, everyone! 2013 has truly been one of the greatest of my life, and it wouldn't nearly have been as fantastic without you all. Whether you're a long time friend, a new watcher, or simply a passerby, I want to thank each of you from the bottom of my heart. You all mean more to me than I can express in words.

New Year's seems like a perfect holiday to celebrate with you all, because really, all the other holidays only celebrate a fraction of my love and gratitude for your company and support. And what better way to celebrate than to hold my first contest? I have literally been planning this since July, and I am so incredibly excited to finally launch it!

As you can tell, this is something of an intricate mega-contest. Fear not, I will guide you all through!

This contest runs from January 1st, 2014 to January 1st, 2015! Yes, through the entire year!

There are five main categories to enter or compete in: Draw My Character(s), Design A Character, DeviantART Fanart, Contribute to the Prize Pool, and finally, Promote the Contest!

You should treat each category/part of the contest as a separate, individual contest of its own.

This means that you do not have to complete all parts to compete in the contest!!!

I do not at all expect every competitor to enter in every part, but you are, of course, welcome to if you would like to! Entrants may enter as many times as they would like in the first three categories; however, they may only win once in total. On the contrary, entrants may only enter once in the last category.

Literary submissions in all categories are, indeed valid! Specifics can be found in the category descriptions.

In addition, there is a raffle, in which every entrant is entered in! Every entrance/submission in contest categories 1-3 automatically receives one raffle ticket. Regards on raffle tickets in the latter two categories are explained below.

At least 15 winners will be chosen at random on the deadline: January 1st, 2015.

This one's pretty straightforward. Select and one(or more!) characters from the list below, and draw them! However your heart desires. You may also write a story/poem/other-creative-literary-alternative, if you would prefer to submit a written entry! Just like the title suggests, this category is all about character design! It's time I get a beautiful new character that I'll use constantly, and I have full faith that you can come up with something brilliant! I am 100% open to every species imaginable– In fact, I would probably pick an extremely unique creature over a standard one. I tend to enjoy simplistic yet original designs and natural palettes; however, please do not limit yourself at all! I would love to see everything you come up with!

As always, written entries are accepted, so feel free to write a description instead of drawing if you would like to!

A hearty description/backstory will earn you brownie points.

We all know how wonderful it is to receive art from others, especially when it's unexpected! I would hate to be the sole recipient of all the art made for this contest, so I decided to dedicate the third category to fanart/giftart!

All you need to do is create some wonderful, spontaneous, art(visual, written, or anything/everything else is accepted,) for anyone of your choice! Family, friends, idols, and fandoms, nearly anything besides me makes the cut for this one. Just send it to me(And more importantly, them,) and you're automatically entered!

I would love to make the prize pool even bigger and brighter than what I am able to provide/afford on my own! Not only will everyone who contributes get featured in the journal in which the winners will be announced, but they will also receive the following prizes, depending on their contribution:
